For C and Si steel grades with option for extension to DCR mill
The skin-pass mill of Gazi Metal Mamülleri is part of a new new production facility for carbon steel and silicon steel cold strip near the town of Karasu.
Gazi Metal supplies the finished strip to the automotive industry and manufacturers of household appliances. Included in our supply scope was an offline skin-pass mill in 4-high design. Right from the beginning, the mill was designed for future extension in a second construction stage. That means the SPM design can be converted into a DCR mill capable of processing tinplate and carbon steel strip. The foundations are already in place for the second mill stand.
The SPM is equipped with hydraulic roll gap adjustment. Due to a high roll force of 18 MN, it can process a large product range including silicon steels. There is a coil preparation station on the entry side which reduces the non-productive time to an absolute minimum.
