Trend-setting cold rolling mills for thin strip copper
In April 2015, Ningbo Xingye Copper started production on a 4-high and a 20-high cold mills for copper and copper alloys. The company is a member of the Xingye Copper International Group Ltd., a leading Chinese manufacturer of top-quality copper strip and plate products.
The input stock for the 4-high RCM comes from semi-continuous casting plants or a hot rolling mill. The strips, which are up to 16 mm thick, are wound into loose coils with variable inner diameters. Whatever its gauge, the strip is coiled under tension. A special feature of this stand is that the strip is fed into the closed roll gap. As a result, the mill rolls the thick, relatively short strip completely from end to end.
The 20-high mill is a SplitBlock design, type SB 23-26”. It can produce minimum final gauges of 0.05 millimeters. All the required gauge and flatness tolerances are ensured by effective control elements:
- Hydraulic roll adjustment
- Crown adjustment of the A-D axes
- Intermediate roll shifting
- X-Shape flatness measuring and control system X-Pact®
- Level 2 offline model
- Multi-Plate® filter
