SMS group participated in 2024 SEAISI Travelling Seminar themed on ‘The Best Practices for Steel Plant Maintenance and Reliability Improvement’ during 26 February – 11 March 2024 and provided an overview of the best practices for enhancing maintenance and reliability in steel manufacturing operations. The events took place in ASEAN countries at Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Singapore.
Mr. Predrag Kaljevic, Mr. Nayan Dhirajlal Surti and Mr. Amit Kumar Chakraborty from SMS group presented at the seminar on ‘Life Cycle Partnership for Plant Efficiency Improvement’ to the steel manufacturers within the framework of the SEAISI Traveling Technical Seminar 2024. The presentation received great interest from local steel manufacturers.
Each year, SEAISI collaborates with its member countries to organize this travelling seminar on topics of interest to the steel community in the ASEAN region. This year, SEAISI liaised with SMS group and Shell Lubricants Solutions, to co-sponsor this interactive seminar. Vietnamese steel manufacturers attended the event at Thai Nguyen Province, Northern Vietnam, are considering solutions for green technologies, energy conservation, emissions reduction, and sustainable development for improvement in the near future. Vietnam government has committed to reducing net emissions to zero by 2050 under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26).
Over 100+ participants attended the seminar from across 20+ companies and organizations operating in the steel industry in Vietnam.
About SEAISI:
The South East Asia Iron and Steel Institute (SEAISI) is a technical institute and its main objective is to promote the iron and steel industry in the South East Asia region. In response to the specific needs of each local steel industry in ASEAN-7 (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Myanmar in 2019), the Travelling Seminar was introduced in 1999.
