As the heart of the heat treatment line for steel plates, the new high-torque leveler is able to straighten steel plates with a maximum yield strength of 1,500 MPa (megapascal). It features a 15-roll design with individually driven rolls and can handle plates as thin as 3 mm. The annual production capacity of the new leveler is approximately 140,000 tons.

SMS group was commissioned with the engineering and manufacturing of the machine. The scope of supply included also the X-Pact automation system.

Project implementation coincided with China's strict Covid-19 policy. The SMS team managed the project professionally, despite the challenging conditions during  manufacturing, shipment and installation of the equipment. The management of WISCO’s hot rolling plant expressed their sincere appreciation for this outstanding achievement.
