EAF in flat products complex
The electric steelmaking plant is part of flat products complex of Maghreb Steel including a slab caster and Steckel mill.
One highlight of the new electric steel plant is the 120-t Arccess® electric-arc furnace (EAF). It's equipped with high-efficiency burners and SIS injectors. These features ensure extra-low energy consumption. And that translates directly into lower production costs. We engineered the EAF so that our customer has the option of using hot metal as input material in the future. Also included in our supply package were a 120-t ladle furnace, a material handling system for alloying agents, and a gas cleaning system. Not only responsible for the mechanical and hydraulic equipment, we supplied the entire X-Pact electrics and automation - complete with drives, measuring and automation equipment, plus technological process models.
