Reversing cold mill, Zhejiang Huayuan Copper (China)

SMS group supplied a single-stand reversing cold rolling mill (RCM) in CVC^® plus 6-high design for Chinese producer Zhejiang Huayuan Copper, Co. Ltd. The RCM rolls strips of copper and copper alloys with widths up to 1,350 millimeters. Minimum final gauge to be achieved on the RCM is 0.15 millimeters.

The cutting-edge RCM of Zhejiang Huayuan Copper, Co. Ltd. was a success right from the beginning. The start-up of the mill was performed by SMS group at record speed about 34 days prior to the contracted due date. The first coil was rolled in December 2018. The Chinese customer, located in Huayuan ranks among the leading providers of copper strip worldwide. The RCM allows Zhejiang Huayuan Copper the complete product range in copper strip.

Beside engineering, our supply included mechanical components, X-Pact^® electrical and automation systems, site services and commissioning. Quality determining core components, like the CVC^® plus roll shifting technology, were supplied from SMS group in Germany. Prime responsibility for the order execution was with the Chinese SMS Siemag Technology Co. Ltd., a company of SMS group.
