Jiugang Group Hongxing Iron & Steel Co., Ltd (JISCO), located in Jiayuguan, China, brings a new 4,200-mm heavy plate mill on stream to address the limitations of its existing 2,800-mm plate mill, thereby enhancing its competitiveness and optimizing its product portfolio.
SMS group delivers automation solutions for Jiugang Group Hongxing Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. (JISCO) to support its new 4,200-mm heavy plate mill, designed to improve efficiency and product quality. Key technologies include the X-Pact® Profile and Flatness Control (PFC®) and Pass Schedule Calculation (PSC®) models. The End Compensation Function aims to adjusts for thickness variations caused by temperature changes or rolling force, improving plate output and quality, especially near head or tail. The structured and modularized software architecture from SMS group enhance diagnostics, troubleshooting, and ensure maximum production capacity, with the project expected to produce its first plate by September 2025.
Building on the strong foundation of past collaboration, the joint project team anticipates the first plate by September of 2025.
